Donations in memory of little William Mead, who died at his Penryn home last month, have continued to soar and now stand at £2,165.82 which will be used to buy potentially life saving equipment for local ambulances.
William, affectionately nick-named Grumpus by his parents Melissa and Paul Mead, died just weeks after celebrating his first birthday. Determined to bring something good out of their tragedy, his parents asked for donations to FLEET (Frontline Emergency Equipment Trust) in lieu of flowers at the funeral.
They set up a JustGiving page primarily so family living abroad could contribute, but soon discovered friends and even total strangers had made donations which meant their target of just £500 was soon exceeded.
The couple, who live at Glasney Place, have been assured the money collected |will be spent on paediatric lifesaving equipment for ambulances operating in Falmouth and Penryn and/or a public access defibrillator.
Anyone still wishing to |make a donation in William’s memory should go to www.justgiving.com/Grumpus.
