Panto fans are being encouraged to take a gander at the latest production from Helston Theatre Company, Mother Goose.

Taking place early next month, at the Epworth Hall, it follows the story of the goose that lays golden eggs – but with almost disastrous consequences.

The pantomime begins with Major Squitters demanding that Mother Goose pay the rent, but she is too poor to pay. Thankfully, Fairy Blessings is there to help and sends Mother Goose Priscilla, a magic goose who lays golden eggs.

However, when Mother Goose isn’t looking Priscilla is stolen by the wicked villain Diablo and Mother must try and get her back – but will she succeeed? This year’s panto is promised to be a spectacular show, following the success of Jack and the Beanstalk and Cinderella.

Group chairman Paul Blaber said: “Our pantomimes have become known for being brilliant spectacles, and this year is no exception. We have got some really wonderful effects this year, great song and dance numbers, and of course lots of audience participation. It’s going to be a really magical show.”

Mother Goose runs from February 4 to 8, at 7.30pm each day, with a matinee at 2pm on the final two weekend days. Tickets are available from Heathercraft in Coinagehall Street or by calling the Epworth Hall box office on 01326 568936.
