Detectives are appealing for information after a knifepoint robbery at a store in Reawla near Hayle on Saturday).

Officers were called at 5pm after a man with a knife entered Reawla Stores and demanded cash the female employee.

The man, who was wearing a scarf covering his face, made his escape with a small quantity of cash from the till.

The shop assistant was shaken but otherwise unharmed.

Detectives are now searching for the suspect and appealing to the public for information to help trace him.

He is described as around 5ft 9ins tall and of medium build. He was wearing a dark-coloured hooded top and dark scarf over his face, dark tracksuit bottoms or jeans, plus gloves.

Detective Constable David Stamp, based in Penzance, said: “We are following a number of lines of enquiry and urge anyone with information about the robbery to come forward and speak to police.

“We would like to hear from anyone who may have seen the man leaving the store or has any knowledge as to his identity.”
