The children of Penryn Primary Academy had the chance to find a new fluffy friend as the infants’ school held a teddy tombola.
Children from both the infants’ and juniors’ site were in the hall after school on Friday to win a teddy and enjoy cakes and refreshments as the school attempted to raise funds for a reception class trip to the Hall for Cornwall at the end of the month.
Organiser Sandra Wilkinson said: “It was great, the Snail and the Whale trip is going ahead due to fundraising, and thanks to parents donating teddies.
She added: “We look forward to more fundraising in the future.
“This is only the beginning of our fundraising mission, only the second. We’re just testing the waters really, trying to get people to see the school in a fun light.”
The event raised £78.70 for the trip, and the school will be holding a cake bake on Wednesday, February 11.
