Man dies after collision near Redruth Accident Appeal for witnesses A man has died after a single-vehicle collision in St Day, Redruth.
Police were called to the scene of the fatal collision shortly before 11.30am on Thursday 5 February after reports that a car had gone into a ditch.
Fire and ambulance service also attended the collision which happened near the Martyn Rowe auction centre, on the way to United Downs.
Paramedics treated the 68-year-old male driver of the red Ford Fiesta, from Camborne, but he died at the scene. His family have been informed.
The road at United Downs, Higher Goon Gumpus and Crofthandy Cuttoff is expected to be closed for some time while officers from the Serious Collisions Investigation Unit carry out a forensic examination of the scene.
Highways have put diversions in place. Motorists are advised to avoid the area and find an alternative route.
There were no other occupants in the vehicle.
Any witnesses to the collision, who have not yet spoken to investigators, are asked to call police on 101 quoting reference 195 of 5 February.
