A Woman has been charged with murder following a fire in Truro.
Karen Pedley aged 41 years from Caharrack near Redruth was charged yesterday with murder and remains in custody to appear before Truro Magistrates Court today Tuesday, February 10.
Her arrest and subsequent charge relates to a fire at the Rosewyn House Care home on Alverton Terrace, Truro on 24 November 2008.
A 96-year-old female resident of the home died in hospital a week after the fire as a result of smoke inhalation.
The suspect was initially arrested on 12 March 2014 and remained on police bail during the police investigation.
Pedley has also been charged with endangering the life of the other care home residents as a result of the arson and three separate arsons that occurred at the Seafarers Centre in Falmouth during 2007/8.
