A new mobile phone mast in Coverack would remove the so-called “not spot” in coverage in that area.
This was the view of St Keverne Parish Council, who gave their support to plans by Arqiva Ltd.
The telecommunications company wants to develop a shared base station at Trewillis Farm, Trewillis, made up of 25m high lattice mast, six antennas, two dishes and six ground-based radio equipment cabinets. This would be installed within a fenced compound.
Councillor Sarah Lyne said: “I haven’t heard any objections from people in Coverack. It is going to get rid of the ‘not spot’.”
The area is renowned for poor mobile phone coverage, which has been criticised |not only by disgruntled |locals and visitors but |also highlighted a potential safety issue.
