At least five decades after leaving school, grandparents have returned to the classroom for a special day at one Helston primary.

Parc Eglos School hosted “grandparents’ day”, which saw relatives of pupils spend time with their grandchildren while carrying out a range of activities.

This included lessons across the school, from science to maths.

The two generations could then sit down do lunch together, with the canteen taking more than 150 bookings.

Writing in the school newsletter after the event, headteacher Brett Dye said: “Thank you to all those grandparents that made today such a success. We |hope you enjoyed your day as much as we did.”
