An 80-year-old man from Helston injured in a crash at Redruth in January has died.

A silver Ford B-Max was travelling along Buller Hill on the B3297 when it was involved in a collision with a silver Peugeot 306 and a white Leyland DAF lorry at around 5.30pm on Friday 9 January 2015.

The two elderly occupants of the Ford B-Max, from Helston, were trapped in their vehicle.

They were cut free from the car by the fire service and taken by ambulance to the Royal Cornwall Hospital, Treliske, in Truro.

The 80-year-old male driver died on February 21 His next of kin have been informed although formal ID has not taken place.

The occupants of the other vehicles, registered to Redruth, were not injured as a result of the collision.

The road was closed for six hours while the lorry was being recovered.

Anyone who witnessed the collision is asked to call the Serious Collisions Investigation Unit, based in Camborne, on 101, quoting log 527 of 9 January.
