The sporting prowess of St Mary’s School in Falmouth has been recognised after several teams won trophies in local competitions recently.
The netball team celebrated winning the Falmouth netball league, proceeding to the area finals in March, and the football team won the league for Falmouth and Penryn, so they will also go on to the area finals, representing Falmouth.
The running team recently participated in the local cross country competition, and also qualified to compete in the finals to be held at Pool.
The school’s swimming team recently represented Falmouth in the area finals at Carn Brea, and the year five girls won their category, meaning they will head to the Cornwall finals in June.
Teaching assistant and netball coach Karen Higham said: “We’re really proud of them all. We’re really committed to sport in the school and in trying to encourage them to participate at any level.
“We’re really proud of all their achievements.”
