Falmouth was awash with daffodils on Thursday as up to 100 children from schools in Falmouth, Penryn and further afield joined volunteers and university student ambassadors to Paint the Town Yellow on the first day of Falmouth Spring Festival.
Now in its fourth year, the festival has been dedicated to the memory of PC Andy Hocking, and as usual, was launched with the distribution of thousands of daffodils which were handed out to shoppers and business owners and used to decorate shop windows throughout the town centre.
The festival, which is organised by the Falmouth Business Improvement District (BID), invites visitors to celebrate and experience Falmouth’s open spaces, terrific coastline and beautiful gardens.
Falmouth BID manager, Richard Wilcox, said: “Falmouth continues to establish itself as a diverse, creative and inventive destination and this early season event provides an occasion to get out and about, be active, learn something new about our fantastic coastal environment but above all have fun.”
