Coverack Art Club will be taking to the road over the Easter weekend to put on a show at the Lifeboat Art Studio in Porthleven.

The club usually exhibits at Lambeage Hall in Coverack, which has been its home for 42 years, and will be staging a summer show there but members thought it would be interesting to have a change of scene and go to Porthleven for Easter.

The Lifeboat Studio, at its dramatic location overlooking the sea near The Ship Inn, was badly damaged in last year’s storms, but has been fully restored and refurbished.

Fifteen members will be contributing paintings, and the exhibition runs over three days, from April 3 to 5, starting at 10am each day and closing at 8pm on the first two days, and 7pm on Easter Monday. Entry is free, and all the work will be for sale.

There will be a “meet the artists” session on the Saturday evening from 6pm to 8pm, when light refreshments will be served. Anyone wishing to join the club is invited to call by and have a chat with club members at any time during the exhibition.

The group meets each Monday from autumn through to late spring, and puts on regular workshops by leading local artists. A number of outdoor paintings sessions are being planned for the summer months at different locations around The Lizard.
