Whoever said you can't have your cake and eat it as well hadn't been to Helston Museum over the Easter holidays where there has been an array of Lewis Carroll themed events.

These included a Mad Hatter's Tea Party last Wednesday when children made hats and decorated cakes ready to eat. Katherine Ashton, museum curator, said: “All the hats looked fantastic, there was lots of glitter and sequins.”

Other events put on by the museum between March 30 and April 8 were The White Rabbit's Clock Trail, Mad Hatter's Hats, and Maze in the Museum, all of which were organised in celebration of the 150th anniversary of Lewis Carroll's Alice's Adventures in Wonderland.

Katherine added: “We set up a maze in the hall and the children went through it searching for tokens, and when they found four they got a little chocolate prize. It was run as a drop in, like the Mad Hatter's Hats.

“For that we had a table set up laid out with cardboard and glitter. We are very happy with how it all went. We had lots of children coming through and lots of parents, too. We hope to run other events like this during school holidays in the future.”
