Dog lovers from across the area will be converging on Kimberley Park in Falmouth next Sunday afternoon, April 19, when the Rosemullion Veterinary Practice will be staging its first Bark in the Park.

The event, which will run from noon, is being held to celebrate National Pet Month and will include a host of fun activities as well as having vets and nurses present who will be happy to chat about people’s pets.

Representatives from local rescue centres, K9 Crusaders and the Retired Greyhound Trust, will also be on hand with a few of their dogs in the hope of finding some of them the new homes they desperately need.

There will be a fun dog show, a chance for dogs to tackle an agility course, a police dog demonstration and a pets’ corner with rabbits, guinea pigs, chickens and more.

A bouncy castle has been hired for the children and there will be a tombola as well as stalls from local pet businesses. Dog owners can also have a portrait photo taken of their dog for just £5.

“This is the perfect event to come along to and find out more about dogs, meet local groomers and trainers and maybe even offer a dog a new home,” said Ruth Collett, a veterinary nurse at Rosemullion.

All money raised on the day will be shared between K9 Crusaders and the Retired Greyhound Trust.
