EAGER couples descended on St Michael’s Hotel’s wedding fair in Falmouth on Sunday to put their golden tickets into the Win A Wedding wishing well.

All the couples had entered the Packet’s Win A Wedding competition in association with St Michael’s Hotel, Falmouth.

Each of the entrants had been sent a golden ticket which they then placed in the Win A Wedding wishing well on arrival at the fair.

Eight lucky tickets were then drawn from the well, with the owners going on to the next stage of the competition - the public vote.

The fair was the culmination of weeks of nominations with couples hoping to win their entire wedding for free. All the exhibitors at the fair are providing their services at no coast as part of the overall package.

The wedding fair was extremely busy all day and as the the hour to draw the eight tickets from the well to see who would go through to the next stage of the competition drew near the tension was palatable.

The tickets were drawn by St Michaels Hotel staff with the eight finalists being: Helen Trewhella and Daren Yates, Kelly Speed and Robert Allen, Mei-Ling Chan and Chris Buggins, Victoria Woodcock and James Milliner, Janice Potter and Corey Lee Merryfield, Tammy Duckham and Scott Hackett, Letitia Dean and Kevin Sampson and Katie Stevens and Tom Langford.

All eight will be featured in next week’s Packet with the chance for everybody to vote for their favourite couple.

Amy Roberts, wedding and events co-ordinator at St Michael’s, said: “The wedding fair was so much fun for all the couples that came.

The grooms loved the free haircuts from the barber and the brides strolled around getting inspiration for their weddings with bubbly and canapés in hand.

“The best part of the day was the big draw for the eight lucky finalists in the Win A Wedding competition.

“Congratulations must to all the couples that got through to the final. I can’t wait to meet the winners and help them plan their dream big day.”
