Staff at Rollers Roller Rink in Pool are looking forward to getting their skates on and trying out some dramatic new hairstyles on CLIC Sargent's Wig Wednesday and are encouraging the local community to join them.

There will be lots of ways to have fun and raise funds for Wig Wednesday including a Hairy Quiz, sweepstakes and roller skating games like limbo and speed skate.

Funds raised from the event on May 20 will go towards the charity's work supporting children and young people with cancer.

Rissa from Rollers Roller Rink said: “So many of us have seen the terrible effects this disease has had on families and Rollers want to create a positive atmosphere at the event where the community can gather to have fun. This is the first of many fundraisers we hope to organise this year at Rollers and we're delighted to be helping CLIC Sargent raise money and awareness for their cause.”

Rollers Roller Rink will be holding a Wig Wednesday Roller Disco on May 20 from 3.30pm to 7pm and is offering two for one entry on the day (excludes skate hire).

Georgina Reed, CLIC Sargent Fundraising Manager, said: “We can't wait to see everyone's new colourful hairdos and we're delighted Rollers Roller Rink is taking part in this year's Wig Wednesday.”
