A man has been remanded in custody to stand trial accused of carrying out a doorstep acid attack on a businessman.
Property developer Andreas Christopheros, 29, was left fighting for his life when corrosive liquid was thrown in his face outside his home in Truro, Cornwall.
David Philips, 48, from Hastings in Sussex, is charged with grievous bodily harm with intent.
He appeared at Truro Crown Court today (Monday) where he pleaded not guilty after the charge was read to him.
Judge Christopher Harvey Clark QC refused a bail application and remanded Phillips in custody with his trial listed to begin on June 8 at Truro Crown Court.
Mr Christopheros has been left with life changing injuries, including a loss of vision and terrible facial scars after the alleged attack last December.
He organises the Run To The Sun custom car event, which attracts around 100,000 car fans to Newquay every summer.
He is also a director of Chase 3000, a car rally across Europe planned for 2015, and owns several properties in the area.
