Spandau Ballet are today (Monday, April 20) announced as the latest superstar act to play this summer’s Eden Sessions.

The five-strong group comprising John Keeble, Steve Norman, Tony Hadley, Martin Kemp and Gary Kemp play Eden on Thursday, July 9 as part of their Soulboys of the Western World tour.

Announcing the seventh 2015 Eden session today, Eden’s marketing director Rita Broe said: “Spandau Ballet are one of Britain’s most iconic bands and their music helped define the 80s, with timeless classics such as True and Gold. "We are thrilled that they will be playing Eden, in a tour they describe as being ‘back for one more dance’. Their addition to the Sessions 2015 makes this summer without doubt our strongest-ever bill.” Spandau Ballet have sold more than 25 million records, scored numerous multi-platinum albums and had 23 hit singles across the globe since their humble beginnings as a group of friends with dreams of stardom in the late 1970s.

It wasn’t long before they became fully-fledged members of the iconic Blitz Club scene and established themselves as one of the super-groups of the 80s.

After two decades apart, the band reformed in 2009, embarking on a sold-out tour. Their new tour is the first since then.

Rusty Egan, legendary DJ and friend of Spandau Ballet, has been confirmed as the special guest for this Eden Session.

Rusty was a hugely Influential and respected figure in the London club and electronica scene that Spandau were part of in the late 70s and early 80s. He was a DJ at the Blitz Club, collaborating with Steve Strange, and was the drummer for Rich Kids and Visage.

Tickets for the Spandau Ballet Eden Session cost £40 plus £5 booking fee and are on sale to members of the Inside Track programme from Monday, April 20 at 4 pm. They go on general sale at 4pm on Monday April 27. Visit www.edensessions.com or call the Eden box office on 01726 811972.
