A man who suffered horrific abuse as a child and an adult, is bringing his Behind Closed Doors tour to Truro when he will tell his story.

George Bamby has memories of being shot with an air rifle, being made to eat dog meat sandwiches and red hot chillies and recalls times he was locked in his bedroom for days on end without food or use of the toilet.

He suffered physical, sexual and mental abuse throughout his childhood. At age 12 he sustained 68 per cent burns in a horrific accident and was given just two hours to live. However, George survived and today at the age of 43 is a father and a businessman.

In his no holds barred, frank and informative tour, George shares his experiences and shows the way forward. He shows that self-belief and resilience are primary factors and that positivity is a driving force to success. Proving that no-one has to be the product of their own upbringing, George breaks the mould and opens his own closed doors to public scrutiny.

George's seminar in Truro will be held in the lecture theatre at the Knowledge Spa at Royal Cornwall Hospital, Treliske between 7.15pm and 9.30pm on May 14.

The evening will be a combination of George telling his story, a comprehensive question and answer session and the chance to see clips from the feature length movie Behind Closed Doors - dramatisation of when he took his parents to court for his mistreatment.
