The number of crimes reported in Penryn has fallen over the past 12 months, despite having lost one third of its neighbourhood policing team.

The written report, by neighbourhood beat manager Bob Jones and PCSO Chris Braddon, stated that there were 391 reported crimes in the Penryn area over the last year, compared to 428 crimes over the same period in 2013/14.

During that time PCSO Lewis Vague left the patch to become a police constable, and he will return to a local station after completing his initial training at Devon and Cornwall Police's headquarters at Middlemoor.

The report read: β€œIn the meantime PCSO Chris Braddon has been and will continue to provide neighbourhood policing cover for the Penryn and more rural areas in company with neighbourhood beat manager PC Bob Jones.”

While a new PCSO has recently joined the station at Falmouth, and a new beat manager will be joining in May, they are yet to be allocated to a patch and could be serving in any area around Penryn or Falmouth.
