Helston Rotary Club.
Coming towards the end of his presidential year, Helston president Benny Vleminckx was "ambushed" this week by his club colleagues and presented him with Rotary's highest honour, a Paul Harris Fellowship.
The award, presented by junior vice-president Vince Grispo (left), was in recognition of the outstanding efforts Benny has put in to driving the club forward in one of the busiest periods of its existence. His inspiration has led to major fund-raising efforts, like a county-wide campaign to furnish the Cove Cancer Support Centre at Treliske, and many more grants from the club to deserving causes.
Just in the past two weeks the club has raised more than £1,500 to buy three Shelterbox crates for onward passage to Nepal to help victims of the two recent earthquakes.
