The first details of the packed programme of shore-based events planned for this summer's Falmouth Week have been announced with the usual mix of live music, markets and displays along with some new attractions.

Events Square will play host to nine days of daytime and evening entertainment, which kicks off with the Pink Wig Night on August 7 and will be followed the next night by the end of carnival party featuring Falmouth Soul Sensations. Through the week there will be a host of top acts, including the Wurzels, who are back for their ever-popular Hog Roast and Cider Night on the Sunday.

Plymouth based Land of The Giants will make their Falmouth Week debut on the Monday and will be accompanied by Finley Quaye. Company B and Almost Blues play the Jump and Jive night on the Tuesday, followed by Definitely Mightbe, one of the UK's leading Oasis tributes, on Wednesday 12th. Thursday night is ska night with Rudi’s Message, and Freshly Squeezed play the Saturday. The headliner acts for the 80s/90s extravaganza on the Friday have yet to be announced. Ticket details for all Events Square nights will also be announced soon.

Tim Vigus, MD of South West Bars and Events, said: “Every year we grow the entertainment programme on Events Square to give people a better experience every time they walk through the marquee. What’s really good to note is that our demographic of ticket holders are from far and wide, as well as a great proportion of locals, which all helps with putting Falmouth firmly on the map, a great achievement for the Region.”

Elsewhere, new this year will be the Outlaw Food and Drink Festival and Outlaw Summer Market on The Moor where Pubs United will be running the bar from 2pm, when the piazza will come alive with live music.

The Falmouth Fun day on the Wednesday will be filled with great entertainment including the Red Arrows display over the harbour, and the Action Sports Tour at Church Street car park. New for 2015 is the Events Square Segway Experience, brought by Cornwall Segway, where the public will get the chance to try out the world’s weirdest personal vehicle through various obstacle courses.

Details will continuously be added to the schedule over the coming months, and will be updated on the Falmouth Week website.
