Godolphin Primary and Little Dolphins Pre School held their first Family and Friends Fun Day last weekend, which rose £2,500 pounds for the schools.

Organised by school PTA members, the event was widely supported with hundreds turning up to participate in a dog show, a tug of war competition, family games, and to enjoy a variety of home baked cakes.

The money raised will go to the school, which has around 90 students in it in total, and will help support the children’s educational development and needs.

Organiser and parent, Natalie Gibbs, said: "It was amazing. Over 400 people turned up. It was about raising awareness about the two schools and to bring people together.”

To the question of whether this family event is the first of many like it, Natalie said: “Hopefully it will be because it was brilliant.”

Godolphin Primary PTA is looking for two new volunteers to join its team as Tammy Barclay is stepping down as vice chair and Helen Rigg is stepping down as secretary. If any parents, carers or other family members of children at Godolphin Primary are interested in joining the team contact Natalie Gibb and Lynne Rowland.
