Sgt Sean Cunningham was presented with his Silver Duke of Edinburgh Award by Sqn Ldr Paul Smith, Wing Executive Officer of Plymouth and Cornwall Wing Air Cadets, earlier this month.
Sean joined 77 (Redruth) Squadron Air Cadets as a cadet at 13 and has now left to join the Coldstream Guards. He said: "I am very grateful for the opportunities and experiences I have had during my time as a cadet with the squadron and would certainly encourage other young people to give it a go."
The squadron is currently recruiting new cadets aged between 12-and-a-half and 18 years, and also adult volunteers. Anyone wanting further information should call 01209 843883 between 7pm and 10pm on a Tuesday or Thursday evening or email adj.77@aircadets.org.
