REDRUTH RBL ended the season as runners-up of the Mining Snooker League division one after drawing with newly-crowned champions Clinton SC A last week. Gary Bray made a 58 break for Clinton A.

The only team that could have challenged Redruth RBL for the runners-up spot, Bell's Court, crashed to a 5-1 defeat at Penponds, who finished in fourth spot, just behind them. Proving the strength of the established division one teams, both last season's promoted teams from division two, Illogan HI and Lanner, occupied the bottom two places.

Godolphin A made sure of the division two title with a 5-0 whitewash of fourth-placed Clinton SC. The runners-up spot is still not decided, but Camborne Conservatives gained ground on Penponds with a 5-0 victory at Redruth RBL. Penponds (Steve Fisher 44 break) beat Four Lanes A 3-2, so the runners-up spot will definitely be decided in the last week of the season, when the two teams play each other, whatever the result of Conservative's match in hand of their rivals.

There were two other 5-0 results in the division, with St Day beating Bell's Court and Four Lanes B moving off the bottom for the first time in many weeks with a similar score over Perranporth Golf Club. Camborne RBL beat Redruth British Rail, with Keith Barker beating Julian Knowles in spite of Julian's 37 break.

In division three, with two matches still to play, Playing Place are now firm favourites to take the title after rivals Redruth RBL Youth lost 3-2 to Camborne Conservatives. Young Jake Stewart made a nice 35 break for the Youth team. Playing Place beat third-placed Redruth Club A 4-1 to increase their lead to five points at the top and almost guarantee them promotion. The result also gives the Youth team a great chance of second place, as they now lead Redruth Club A by five points.
