Plans are in place by the ZestiFAL organisers, for a vibrant and colourful Active Family Day in Kimberley Park, being staged as part of the exciting new sports festival taking place in July this year.

A number of sports and activities will be on offer for the first time in the park as part of ZestiFAL, all free and open to all to come and have a go.

So if you fancy negotiating a mountain bike obstacle course, cheerleading, dancing, brushing up on your circus skills or a game of Frisbee, then make sure you head to Kimberley Park during ZestiFAL on Thursday, July 30. The day will kick off at 10am and run through till 4pm.

Funded and organised by the Falmouth BID, ZestiFAL is set to transform the town into a hub of energetic and engaging activity for nine days from July 25 to the August 2. It will showcase a range of different activities inviting the public to have a go and will offer a chance for residents and visitors, of all ages and abilities, to try something new such as Pilates, Zumba, scuba, climbing, cricket, hockey, martial arts, a pirate fun run or paddle-boarding.

The town’s open spaces from The Moor and Events Square, to Kimberley Park and Gyllyngvase Beach, will be transformed to provide wonderful venues for all the fun. Activities will pop up within "zones" around town - there will be Studio and Active Zones on The Moor, a Team Sports Zone on Events Square, a Family Zone for Kimberley Park and a Beach Zone at Gyllyngvase Beach.

Richard Wilcox, Falmouth BID manager said: “The ethos of ZestiFAL is simple – to showcase the wonderful variety of activities on offer in Falmouth and Cornwall and to encourage people of all ages and abilities to try out something new and exciting. Throughout the week we’ll have some great free taster sessions on offer, an opportunity not to be missed.

"We’re also utilising as many of our superb open spaces as possible including of course Kimberley Park. It’s a lovely green space and activities such as this help to raise its profile so people can discover for themselves how terrific it is.”

Janey Davis, from the Friends of Kimberley Park, added: “It's great to see our lovely park hosting such an inspired event, getting people outdoors to have fun and the opportunity to enjoy their surroundings. We're looking forward to all the activities planned and it's sure to be a great day out for everyone."
