MEMBERS of the Falmouth Theatre Company are putting the finishing touches to their summer season play which will be staged at the Princess Pavilion.

This year instead of a comedy, the company has moved into the genre of murder mystery. Murder in St Mawes is written and directed by local author David Ivall, and is set in a holiday home in the seaside village. Here we find a husband and wife, with money problems and a brother who is an actor with "interesting tendencies."

Another family turns up with their bright young son, but the parents are about to split up and the atmosphere is strained. Finally, add to the mix the loyal Cornish housekeeper, who comes from St Mawes and sees to the needs of the visitor’s day in day out.

"Put all this together and top it off with a good old Cornish storm and you have

a murder," said FTC's Amanda Rollason. "who did it? Who had the means? The motive? The opportunity? Want to know more? Come along on a Thursday evening at the Princess Pavilion to find out."

Murder in St Mawes can be seen on seven Thursday over the summer - July 9, 16, 23 and 30; August 6, and 20 and September 3 - with curtain up at 8pm. Tickets can be booked by calling 01326 211222, popping into the pavilion box office in Melville Road between 9am and 1pm, Monday to Friday or online at www.crbo.co.uk/events.
