There will be a double attraction in Ashton this Sunday July 12 when the village fete and the dog show join forces.
The two events will be held in the garden behind the Lion and Lamb during the afternoon, with the fete opening at 1pm and the dog show classes starting at 2pm.
All dog owners are welcome to just turn up and enter on the day, and the 15 categories on offer will include classes for puppies, junior handler, best rescue, veteran over 8, and best trick.
As the dog owners parade their pets, the rest of the fete will be in full swing, with a good variety of stalls, games and attractions.
Keen bakers are urged to bring their best efforts to the ever-popular cake stall, and this year’s grand raffle has been supported by many local shops and businesses who have donated prizes.
There is plenty of parking in the big field across the road from the pub, and the new Ashton Village Shop behind the pub will be open all afternoon.
