AN Old Skool Reunion held at Falmouth Rugby Club gave party goers the chance to catch up with old friends, don fancy dress, dance the night away to some 70s and 80s classics while raising money for the children's hospice at St Austell.

Organised by Jeff Chambers and Mark Johns, the evening attracted around 300 people from near and far with one person even planning his trip from New Zealand to coincide with the reunion.

"It was absolutely wonderful," said Jeff. "It was a chance for people who grew up together in the 70s and 80s, but who don't see each other much to get together - people came from all different parts of the country."

The music was provided free of charge by DJ David Kitts, but one of the highlights of the evening was the long awaited return of DJ Donaldo, aka Donald Chambers, who took to the turn table for a guest slot - again offering his services for free.

Those who danced the night away had paid to get in and by the end of the night a total of £1,345 had been raised for Little Harbour, the Children's Hospice South West's facility at St Austell.

It was the second such reunion held and stemmed from a Facebook group, Old Skool Reunion, which had been set up to enable people to share memories and post old photos. Such was the success of the event, a third reunion is already being planned for next June.
