The Rotary Club of Cober Valley raised over £200 with a fun evening spent messing around in boats in Porthleven Harbour.

Rotary members were hosted by Porthleven Gig Club at their clubhouse at the harbour last week, at a fundraiser in support of the rowers.

Caroline Hemsworth, the secretary of the Rotary Club, said: "Fortunately it was a dry, sunny evening, so the Rotarians were given the opportunity to try their hands at gig rowing, they went out to sea in the boats under the supervision of experienced rowers from the gig club.

"They returned to a barbecue and a wonderful spread of food all supplied by the giggers including an impressive cake, iced with the Rotary logo."

The evening raised £225 as each Rotarian made a donation to the gig club as a gesture of thanks for the evening.
