A former commander of police in Cornwall and Deputy Lieutenant of the county who lives in Falmouth has taken over as president of the Rotary Club of Truro Boscawen.

Bob Sturland, of Port Pendennis, has been a member of the club for 18 years and says he is delighted to be the president for 2015/6. He hopes the club will continue to support many local and international charities in addition to focusing on schools projects with the popular Youth Speaks, Young Chef and Young Writer competitions.

Bob is also involved in a number of Cornish charities including BF Adventure near Penryn, which has just been given the Queen's Award for Voluntary Service in recognition of it's work with young disadvantaged and disabled people.
