Food outlet owner, Sharron Lipscombe-Manley, has been accepted as a director onto the BID Camborne board.

Sharron expressed an interest in becoming more involved with BID Camborne within months of opening her Cross Street shop, Delight 2 Bite. Apart from sound business acumen and excellent cooking skills, Sharron’s past work experience - she was the catering manager for Hall for Cornwall for over eight years - should prove an asset.

“Having recently taken over Delight 2 Bite I felt that I should become more involved in what is happening in Camborne,” said Sharron. “I also think that Cross Street is slightly neglected when the town has celebrations and I would like to encourage more to happen there. I worked on quite a few large projects whilst working as catering manager for Hall for Cornwall and believe my organisational skills, extensive contacts and theatrical knowledge will be useful to BID.”

All BID directors volunteer their time to help improve Camborne as a commercial district. As well as board meetings, there are two project working groups that focus on Christmas and marketing, helping the BID manager develop projects, and another that deals with finance. Many directors also get directly involved with project delivery and Sharron has already started reviewing the proposed new flags to decorate Cross Street.

BID Camborne manager, Mel Martin, said: “I’m delighted Sharron has chosen to join the BID board. She is extremely well qualified, enthusiastic and full of ideas and has the experience and skill to help put plans into action.”
