The 3 Chords Festival is back to prove punk’s not dead as they announce another eclectic line up stretching from the 70s to the present day.

This August the festival returns to the Trereife Estate near Penzance, promising 24 bands across two days including the Restarts, the Lurkers, and punk poet TV Smith, formerly of the adverts, who is back following an electrifying set last year.

Bands and fans adorned with studs, patches and mohawks are expected to descend from all corners of the country, for two days of live punk rock and pasties.

As well as the headline acts, bands include Vice Squad, Goldblade, Control, Dirtbox Disco and a whole host of new talent including Hearts Under Fire, Wonk Unit and Eat Defeat.

Organiser Rob Lewis said: "3 Chords contributes to the bohemian culture that is constantly growing in a place that is often regarded as cut off where nothing ever happens."

Pete Kliskey, another organiser, said: “Many of the festival attendees are visiting Cornwall for the very first time and with our beautiful beaches, great food and hopefully great weather it's hard for people not to have a great time. Throw a diverse range of bands into the mix, camping and some of the best local beer and cider people are going to keep coming back."

The festival has grown year on year, even catering for the little punks too. This year's events features a kids only mosh pit and arts and crafts workshops to encourage and inspire the next wave of creative children. One addition this year is ‘The Punk Grannies’ – ready, willing and able to sew on any patches you like.

Tickets are £55 for 3 days camping and entry, and day tickets and child passes are also available, as well as full line-up information, at http://www.3chordsfestival.co.uk, or from the Farmers Arms in Penzance or by cheque to 3 Chords Festival at Buriton House, Alverton Street, Penzance TR18 2QP.
