The children of Mullion Primary School had a race for reading recently as they ran a mini marathon to raise money for a quirky new library.
The pupils, and some parents, took part in a sponsored mini marathon as they school looks to raise enough cash to buy a library bus for the school and the wider public in the village to use.
So far the school has raised over £1,000 including the marathon sponsorship, which will go towards the £34,000 needed to buy a converted bus, complete with bookshelves, seating area, and a library desk in place of a driver's cab.
School secretary Sue Hill said: "We are lacking space here, and t would be a bigger library for us, and for the community."
