EVERY child at St Francis School in Falmouth had a part to play in their end of term production of The Little Mermaid.

Obviously, having every child on stage at the same time would have been impossible, so the youngsters were split into four teams with each group taking it in turns to perform in front of parents.

It was not only on-stage that the children's talents were exposed, however. The year five and six pupils not only designed, but also made their own costumes from scratch using a variety of textiles and materials. The year four youngsters designed and made their own chef's aprons and hats while year three designed a coat of arms for their class.

Year two children paired up to work on their fish and mermaid costumes, using tie-dying techniques; while the reception, year one and year three pupils got creative with 3D art, making under the sea creatures and murals which decorated the school hall.
