The A39 near the Treluswell Roundabout was partially closed this morning as an oil slick was cleared away after four vehicles were involved in collisions.

In the first of three incidents on the same stretch of road, at around 7am, a green Peugeot 306 from Falmouth slid on the bend in the road, although the female driver was unhurt.

The female driver of a black Volkswagen Golf from Helston also escaped unhurt after she lost control on the bend and the car ended up in a hedge.

The third collision involved a Hyundai motorbike from Helston and a Honda VT125 from Penryn.

Police reported that the motorcyclists were being checked over by paramedics, and the road was closed in the Falmouth to Truro direction, but had reopened by 8.40am.
