A man suffered head and hand injuries early this morning when he was assaulted with a metal pole during a robbery in Camborne.

Police are appealing for information after the man was assaulted by four men and robbed at a commercial premises on Trevu Road.

Officers were called shortly after midnight following reports from a member of the public that a man had been assaulted.

A police spokesperson said: "Four men wearing balaclavas are alleged to have entered the premises and demanded money.

"They attacked the man with a metal pole and stole a substantial amount of cash and vehicle keys. The 51-year-old victim suffered head and hand injuries and was taken by ambulance to Treliske Hospital, where his treatment continues."
