Aircraft from the Royal Navy’s Historic Flight along with other veteran maritime war-birds who attended RNAS Culdrose recent Air Day, took an opportunity during their visit to have a photo call over Falmouth Bay.
With a dramatic back-drop of Henry VIII’s Pendennis Castle and flying across Carrick Roads the elderly aircraft made a spectacular sight reminiscent of the years past.
“Falmouth provided a great setting for these pictures,” said photographer Lee Howard who took the pictures from the open door of a Skyvan. “It’s not every day you get all of these wonderful Naval aircraft together and against the spectacular Cornish coastline, which complements the maritime environment that they would have operated in during their service careers: and in perfect weather, too.”
