Truro based dog charity, K9 Crusaders, has received £5,000 from Support Adoption For Pets to help towards its ongoing vet bills.

K9 Crusaders work tirelessly to rescue, rehabilitate and re-home various breeds of dog. They make sure all dogs are neutered, vaccinated, microchipped and treated for fleas and worms prior to rehoming which leaves them with large vet bills, despite small discounts given from regularly used vets. Last year, the rescue centre spent over £23,762 on vet bills, their largest expense.

Amy Wilson, charity manager at Support Adoption For Pets, said: “K9 Crusaders offer a fantastic service rescuing, rehabilitating and rehoming dogs. It is a privilege to support such a hard working rescue centre.”

Support Adoption For Pets is an independent charity established by Pets at Home in 2006, since then it has helped over 950 re-homing centres and animal welfare organisations across the UK. In addition to its fundraising work it also runs dedicated adoption centres in more than 370 Pets at Home stores.
