The playing field at Budock Water was filled with stalls and games on Saturday, September 5 when the village held its fundraiser so that the children could have their Christmas party.

The day was organised by the Budock Water Carnival Committee and raised and £250.

Committee treasurer Tracey Nunn said: "It was a good day and there was a nice crowd of people there."

Children took part in egg and spoon races as well as carnival games such as splat the rat and tin pan alley, while adults enjoyed the cream teas that were served.

A particularly happy little boy, Amos Brierley, won a large and fluffy lion at the tombola, which was run by The Falmouth and Penryn Lions.

Usually the committee runs a carnival at this time of year to raise money of the children's Christmas party and Tracy has said there will most likely be a carnival again next year.
