Cober Valley Rotary Club's first ever fun golf day proved a big hit and by the end of it, £365 had been raised which will go towards the cost of providing a defibrillator at the Wheal Dream pub.
The competition, which was held on the golf course next to the pub, saw a golfer and non-golfer team up with the former tasked with hitting the ball onto the green and the latter then doing their best to putt it. In total 17 pairs of golfers took part, including members of Falmouth Golf Club who made the trip across the Helston.
The eventual winners were Rachael Curnow, who was the golfer, and her partner for the day, and non-golfer, Paul Bolton. Their prize had been donated by Atlantic Hot Tubs who offered to bring a hot tub to the winner's garden for them to enjoy for a long weekend. Second and third prizes winners won vouchers for the Wheal Dream pub.
