The Rugby World Cup may have come to an abrupt end for England, but four volunteers from Helston have been proudly representing their town during the tournament.

Natalie Farley, Lorraine Osman, Ross Williams and Guy Pallett were picked from over 20,000 applicants to train for supporting roles in bringing the spectacle and grandeur of the cup to England and Wales this autumn.

All four volunteers, chosen as representatives of Helston football club, will be working at Sandy Park in Exeter, with Natalie working on the VIP desk while Lorraine helps with the crowds in the stadium. Meanwhile, Ross and Guy will be taking part in the logistics side of the operation.

Natalie said: It feels good to be representing Helston on the 50th anniversary of the club. We're all very excited."

The application process began in 2014, with telephone interviews followed by one-on-one meetings, and the successful applicants were notified in February and March this year.

Natalie said: "It was quite a stringent process."

She added: "I'm very excited. I'm proud to be representing Cornwall, as a Cornish woman."
