Staff and customers at Falmouth's Five Degrees West were in party mood this weekend as the pub hosted a cider and ale festival and raised £325.24 for the local RNLI along the way.

As well as the a great selection of 17 real ales and 18 ciders, the pub in Grove Place offered three days of entertainment with something to suit the whole family. There was live music across the whole weekend, starting with Shameless on Friday night who were followed by Black Velvet on Saturday, who had the task of lifting everyone's spirits following England's rugby defeat. The music was rounded off by Cahooty on Sunday.

Day time was family time at the pub. "We had a very successful family fun day on Saturday, made even better by the glorious sunshine," said manager Kelly Taylor. "There was pie throwing, a tombola, balloon animals and magic from Captain Ba-Dom-Ba-Dom, hair braiding, a cake sale, teddy tombola and face painting. We also had a very special performance by Cornish dance group Kemysk.

"Myself and my partner Frank Allen would like to say a massive thank you to everyone that helped to make it such a wonderful day."
