Nankersey Male Choir

As part of its celebration of the 65th year of its existence, the Nankersey Male Choir held a tea party at the Community Centre, Mabe in the afternoon of Saturday 3rd October. Members of the choir, their supporting wives, partners and friends met Vice-Presidents (contributors), past members of the choir, guest artists and Chairmen of the choir's concerts. Many records and photographs of the choir's history were on show, memories and gossip were exchanged, refreshments were enjoyed, a birthday cake was cut by surviving founders, a song was sung (for once by the lady supporters to the choir) and a good time was had by a company of over a hundred people.

The choir's next engagement is a joint concert with Imerys Mid-Cornwall Male Choir in the Methodist Church, Redruth on Saturday 24th October, starting at 7.30 pm. The concert is in aid of the Children's Hospice South West.

The choir practises in St Peter's Church Hall, Flushing on Mondays from 7.30 pm to 9.30 pm. Gentlemen who would like to try singing with a male choir are welcome to attend, but should, please, first contact the Secretary, Fred Bidgood on 01326-373984.
