Police investigating the death of soldier David Curnow in Redruth last month are looking for a potential witness who was driving a Land Rover through the town on the night in question.

Officers have launched an appeal to locate the driver of the dark Land Rover Discovery which was seen driving through Chapel Street between 11.30pm on Saturday, September 19, and 3am on Sunday, September 20.

A spokes[erson for Devon and Cornwall Police said: "It is possible that the driver may have dropped someone off at The Zone nightclub. It is also believed that the driver of the Landrover Discovery may be a witness and hold information relevant to the ongoing police investigation."

The car is described as having a twin sun roof, side running steps, a tow bar and the spare tyre cover missing - it could be a Mk2 model.

The driver is asked to contact Devon and Cornwall Police on 101 and ask to speak with the Camborne Major Crime Investigation Team, or quote police crime reference CR/65599/15.

Connor Hammond, 21, of Trenoweth Estate, North Country, Redruth, and Liam Laing, 21, of Brookside, Chacewater, Truro, have been charged with murder in connection with the death of David Curnow and both remain in custody awaiting trial.
