A member of the public is now helping the police in Redruth with enquiries into the death of David Curnow following an appeal yesterday.
Police of the soldier last month were looking for a potential witness who was driving a Land Rover through the town on the night of Saturday, September 19.
A spokesperson for Devon and Cornwall Police said: "Following today’s appeal in relation to identifying the driver of the Land Rover, a member of the public has been in touch and is now helping us with our enquiries.
"We would like to thank the public for their help with this matter."
