Police searching for a Hayle man who has been missing since last Tuesday have said they are trying to identify a coastal walker as par of their appeal to the public.
Officers have been looking for Eugene Evans since he was reported missing from his home in St Erth, and have had reports of a man using the south west coastal path between Portreath and Porthtowan who they would like to identify and eliminate from their enquiries.
A police spokesperson said: “We would like to speak to a man described as tall and thin, wearing a long green wax style jacket and a black beanie hat, who was in the Lighthouse Hill area on Monday November 23 between 11.30am and midday to come forward to police.”
Eugene Evans, 71, is described as white, 6ft tall, of slim build with light coloured hair and a receding hairline. Until recently he had dread locks but he is believed to have cut them off.
If you are the man described who was walking in the Lighthouse Hill area on Monday, or have seen Eugene Evans, please contact police on 101 quoting log 395 of November 24.
