It was all smiles when Falmouth School celebrated its annual presentation evening where awards were handed out in recognition of the outstanding achievements at GCSE for the class of 2015.

Subject teachers and tutors were delighted to greet the students as they arrived to celebrate their fantastic results. Awards were given to individual students for outstanding performance in subject areas and at the end of the evening the school’s top achievers were specially honoured.

A speech was made by head teacher, Brett Miners which highlighted the achievements of the year group since they started in Falmouth School back in year seven in 2010. The group have made excellent progress to achieve results beyond expectations.

Deputy head, Alex George compered the event and read comments about the prize-winners that had been written by their subject teachers, looking back over how the students had developed over the years, and celebrating their achievements.

A musical introduction was provided by year ten student Theo Fleming, who beautifully played the piano to welcome the arriving guests. Photographs on the evening were taken by sixth form photography student Sarah Smith.

The students presented with awards were: Outstanding Achievement Awards, Madeleine George and Will Luscombe; Outstanding Progress Awards, Hannah MacDonald and Jack Elsby-Hartman. Subject award winners were: creative arts, Molly King; English, Bethany Evans; geography, Ebony Wright; history, Lauren Cowie; languages, Madeleine George; mathematics, Rebecca Watts; science, Rachel Elvans; sport, Robert Beard and technology, Laurie Fripp.
