A meeting in Cury next Wednesday (March 2) will give people from across Helston and the Lizard Peninsula the chance to raise issues about roads in the area.

Representatives from Cornwall Council and Cormac will give an update of the ongoing work being carried out on roads and the environment, as well as what is coming up, before taking questions from the public at the Helston and South Kerrier Community Network Panel meeting.

This will take place between 6pm and 8pm at Cury Village Hall and is open to anyone.

Also on the agenda is the launch of the Local Devolution Fund, which will help communities take over facilities such as parks and buildings from Cornwall Council, and a presentation from Sue Swift, chair of the 50+ Forum, who will be talking about its work with people over the age of 50 in the area, and answering questions.

Meetings are held four times a year to talk about matters affecting the community and agree on what needs to be focused on in terms of policing, roads, planning and the environment.

All seven Cornwall Councillors for the area attend, together with the 18 parishes in the network: Breage, Crowan, Cury, Germoe, Grade Ruan, Gunwalloe, Gweek, Helston, Landewednack, Manaccan, Mawgan, Mullion, Porthleven, Sithney, St Anthony, St Keverne, St Martin and Wendron.
