A motorcyclist who landed on the bonnet of a car during a Helston crash and then rode off again, ended up in court after his victim tracked him down on social media.

Jason Abraham, from Coinagehall Street, Helston, pleaded guilty to failing to stop after an accident and failing to report an accident on August 29 last year, as well as using the motorbike without a proper licence or insurance.

The 28-year-old also admitted separate motoring offences of using a Peugeot car without an appropriate licence or insurance at Helston on November 12; and using a Citroen car without an appropriate licence or insurance at Helston on November 19.

Prosecutor Alison May said in the August 29 crash the woman motorist had stopped at a roundabout when Abraham, on an off-road motorbike, drove directly in front of her.

After he and his passenger landed on the bonnet of her car, Abraham was abusive to her.

When they got off her car they gave her back her number plate, which had been knocked off, and the two then got on the bike and road off. Her front bumper, grille and bonnet had been left damaged.

Afterwards she posted on the social media about what had happened, which led to Abraham and his passenger being named, and she passed on this information to the police.

On November 12 police stopped Abraham driving a Peugeot when it had no rear offside light working and found he had only a provisional licence and was not accompanied by a qualified driver.

On November 19 he was recognised by the police while driving a Citroen and was again found without an appropriate licence or insurance. He had previous convictions.

Abraham told magistrates in Truro he was sorry.

They fined him £250, with an additional £110 costs and charges, and he was given given 24 points on his licence and banned from driving for a year.
